Jay "Jaybird" Menard

Memorial services for Jay “Jaybird” Menard, 47, of Roanoke will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings.  Interment will follow in SWLA Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning and continue until the 10:00 a.m. service.

Jay was born on September 24, 1974, in Welsh, to parents Wayne and Sue Menard.  He retired from the Army after 24 years of service.  He also worked for Sasol as an operator for 25 years.  Jay was known as a very caring person who helped many others.  He was devoted to his family and friends. He was a strong, wonderful, and devoted husband and father. He was member of the C10 Club and had a passion for these trucks.  He enjoyed cruising in his C10 and restoring others. Jay was a graduate of Welsh High School, Class of 1992.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 25 years, Sedonia Barber Menard; a son Keigan Menard; two sisters, Heather Guidry of Jennings, and Kayla (Josh) Oliva of Lafayette; and two brothers, Scott (Donna) Menard of Roanoke, Keith (Amanda) Menard of Scott and 12 nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home.
