Funeral services for Javean Jamal Eugene-Deshotel, 13 of Lake Arthur will be held August 7, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in Grand Marais Ballroom with Pastor James Townley officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin on Friday, August 6, 2021, at First Pentecostal Church at 2:00 p.m. and will close at 9:00 p.m.  Saturday morning visitation will begin at the Grand Marais at 9:00 a.m. and continue until time of service.

Javean was born on April 9, 2008, in Jennings to Steven Deshotel and Dana Eugene-Deshotel. He was in the 7^th grade at Lake Arthur High School.  Javean was a very active member of the First Pentecostal Church of Jennings and was on the Local Bible Quiz Team. He had an awesome desire to preach the Word of God and become an Evangelist. He enjoyed fishing, doing flips and was the protector of his brother.  He was often referred to as the perfect child and the best big brother.

Javean is survived by his parents; one brother, Zaidyn Deshotel; grandparents Columbus and Mary Ann Eugene; Julie Deshotel and great grandmother Dorothy Anderson.  Also included is a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends.
