Funeral services for Mr. James Romero, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel.

Mr. Romero died at 11:15 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in the Acadia General Hospital.

Mr. Romero was born in Morse, LA and a resident of Crowley.  He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church.  He loved to fish, hunt, garden and bird watch.

Survivors include four daughter, Catherine Benoit, Carla Hebert, Connie Romero of Crowley and Karen (Keith) Matt of Lake Arthur; one son, James Romero, Jr. of Morse; one sister, Elaine Young of Jennings; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louel “Felix” and Louise Stutes Romero; his wife, Shirley Crochet Romero; one son, Michael Romero; four sisters, Mary Benoit, Shirlene Broussard, Yvonne Swier and Linda Henderson and one brother, Amos Romero.
