James Morris Peters

Jennings Funeral services for Mr. James Morris Peters, 100, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with Brother Jack Harris officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Peters died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 4:30 a.m. at his residence. He was a native of Bonita, LA, lived in Gulfport, Mississippi and resided in Jennings since 1964. Mr. Peters was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was a member of the Gulfport Lions Club and Jennings Rotary Club. He loved to water ski at age 81 and loved the outdoors. He was the Manager of Entex Gas Company. Mr. Peters is survived by a daughter; Susan (Albert) Davis of Lafayette, LA, a son; Morris (Kathleen) Edward Peters of Jacksonville, FL, 4 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cal Morris and Della Humphrey Peters and his wife, Gwendolyn Edwards Peters.
