James Madison Kilpatrick

November 11, 1918 — January 8, 2011

Jennings James Madison Kilpatrick, 92 of Jennings, La. Died January 8, 2011 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a long time business owner of K & K Water. James was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was Past Scout Master, headed the Demolays, a member of the Eastern Stars, Past Master of the Jennings Masonic Lodge #249 and was Secretary of the Lodge for over 20 years. He was a 33rd Degree Mason and most recently Potentate of the Habibbi Temple of Lake Charles. He was also a member of the Jesters. James was especially proud to have served in the U. S. Navy at Pearl Harbor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Sis Kilpatrick and three grandchildren. He is survived by three daughters, Gayle Sharp, Sharon Gray and Jo Ann Eldridge and one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Shirah Kilpatrick, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Miguez Funeral Home Monday, January 10, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Habibbi Temple Shriners will hold a ceremony at the funeral home. The funeral services will be at Miguez Funeral Home Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Masters officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Shriners Hospital, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, La. 71103 The family of James Kilpatrick would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff and employees of the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings for their care and compassion.
