James D. Duplantis

Mr. James “Jamie” Duplantis, 75, of Lake Arthur, LA, passed away peacefully at his home, on July 27, 2024.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 2, 2024, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Following the visitation, the family has chosen to honor his wishes of cremation.

James was born on August 9, 1948, in Jennings, LA, to William and Julie Duplantis. He proudly served in the United States Army. James worked as an operator for many years for Exxon Mobile. He lived in Baton Rouge for many years until recent years, lived in Lake Arthur, LA. He was a loving and caring man and cherished his family deeply. Jame’s legacy will continue to be passed on, and he will never be forgotten.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sharon Horton Duplantis; stepson, Joseph B. Denham and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 47 years, Kathleen Ford Duplantis; sisters, Jaqueline DeLaunay and Judy Thibodeaux; and brother, Stanley Duplantis.
