J.T. Bruce

Funeral services for Mr. JT Bruce, 87, of Lake Charles will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Broussard officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Bruce will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 5 and will continue until time of service at 12:30 p.m.

Mr. Bruce was born in Newkirk, OK and eventually moved to Lake Charles around 1953. He was a member of the American Legion Post and VFW in Lake Charles. Mr. Bruce served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the railroad prior to obtaining a job as a lab technician at Cities Service for 37 years. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Shiela and David Domingue; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver Carl Bruce and Mabel Augusta Baker; sisters, Gladys Bliss and Verle Majors; brothers Stanley, Melvin, Donald, George, Herbert and Lyle Bruce.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Bruce’s honor to Lamm Hospice.
