Ivy Davis

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Ivy Davis, 89, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 8,2013 in the Miguez Funeral Home South Chapel with Pastor Ivy Dalton Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Maxie Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services. Mr. Davis died at 3:54 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Davis was a 37 year resident of Jennings moving here from Crowley. He was a retired foreman in the oil and gas construction industry and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Roanoke. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Sonnier Davis of Jennings; six daughters, Ramona Breaux and Elizabeth Clements both of Jennings, Beverly Cormier of Iota, Janet Smith of Eunice, Deborah Bertrand and Rhonda Bertrand both of Evangeline; five sons, Ivy Dalton Davis of Columbia, LA, Glenn Keith Davis and Elvin Davis both of Iota, Robert Charles Davis of Duson and Roderick Chuck Davis of Evangeline; one brother, Robert Davis of Jennings; 31 grandchildren, 56 grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. and Evelyn Cormier Davis; one daughter, Jenny Nini, one son, John Stevens Davis and two brothers, Elvin Davis and Joffred JD Davis. Pallbearers will be six of his grandsons.
