Jennings Funeral services for Mrs. Ivra D. Jones, 98 will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Estes officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Jones died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 7:25 a.m. in the Christus St. Patricks Hospital in Lake Charles. She was a native of Sparta, TN, was a member of Christian Family Fellowship Church of Christ and has resided in Jennings since 1954. Mrs. Jones worked in Oak Ridge, TN during World War II. She spent most of her career in the hospitality industry, working and or managing the Zigler Hotel, Jennings Country Club and the Holiday Inn. She also worked as a clerk for the city of Jennings. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Republican Women’s Club. Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter; Sharlie D. Tomlinson and husband Ross of Fort Worth, TX and a son; Larry S. Elders and wife Ann of Ferriday, LA her five grandchildren; Audrey Brunson and husband Latham, Kathleen Elders, Trey Tomlinson and wife Carrie, Marty Tomlinson and wife Melissa , Nora Clark and husband David and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper Newton and Nori Leetie Pitman DeRossette, her two husbands, Lester S. Elders and Wayne E. Jones, two sisters and two brothers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Christian Family Fellowship Church of Christ or charity of your choice.
