Huey J. Touchet, Jr.

Jennings Funeral services for Mr. Huey Joseph Touchet, Jr, 66, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Tony Fontenot officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Touchet died Friday evening, January 30, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Touchet was a lifelong resident of Jennings/Welsh area and was a graduate of Jennings High School Class of 1960. He was employed as a mechanic for John Deere in Welsh and Jennings for 35+ years. Mr. Touchet was a man of few words, but he had a big heart and loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed the Cajun lifestyle and food. He is survived by his wife; Lottie Lawrence Touchet of Jennings,LA., two daughters; Michelle Touchet Van Fleet of Lafayette, LA. and Jacqueline Touchet Mayeaux and husband, Stacey of Opelousas, LA., two sons; Mark Touchet and wife, Allyson and Jered Touchet and wife Carley , all of Austin, TX., his parents; Huey and Viola Jeanise Touchet of Jennings, LA., one sister; Barbara Ann Gotreaux of Jennings, LA, five brothers; Daniel Touchet of Elton, LA., Charles Touchet of Spring Hill, LA., Paul Touchet, Pete Touchet and Matt Touchet all of Jennings, LA., five grandchildren; Joshua Johnson and wife Karen, William Van Fleet, Sydney Mayeaux, Connor Mayeaux and Emerson Touchet and two great grandchildren; Braden Lee Johnson and Hunter Johnson
