Funeral services for Mr. Howard Ellis Owers, 82, will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Gene Vincent and Bro. Brian Wells officiating. The burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitations will begin on Monday at 9:30 a.m. and go on until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.

Howard Ellis Owers was born August 3, 1941, to Eddies Archie and Willie Mae Harkins Owers, in Grosse Tete, LA. He graduated from Jennings High school in 1959. He married the love of his life, Frances Pitts Owers in 1960 and again in 2008.

Howard started his Oil and Gas career as a roughneck, then went to Superior Oil and by the end of his career was a Production Consultant with various companies.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Frances Pitts Owers; daughter Lisa Owers; his grandchildren, Christian Owers and Brianna (Destin) Potter; one great grandchild, Sully; 3 sisters “his 3 little girls”, Charlotte Dosier, Margarita “Rita” (Terry) Terro, Myrnita “Nita” (Gene) Vincent; brother, Ralph (Juanice) Owers; daughter-in-law, Sonja Owers and his treasured fur baby, Missy.

He was preceded by his son, Lane Owers; parents, Eddies, and Willie Mae Owers; two brothers, Harold Owers, and Randall Owers; and sister, Catherine Welch.
