Hillard Broussard

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Hillard Broussard, 88, will be held at 12:30 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2010 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Keith Pellerin officiating. Burial with full Military Graveside Honors will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:30 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. today, Friday; and 8:00 A.M. Saturday until time of services. A rosary led by the Catholic Daughters will be recited at 7:00 P.M., today, Friday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Broussard died at 5:50 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in the Christus St. Patrick Hospital, Lake Charles. Mr. Broussard was a 52 year resident of Eunice moving there from Lake Arthur. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and was an avid hunter and gardener. Mr. Broussard retired from ANR Pipeline Company. Survivors include five daughters, Jeanette King and husband Donald of Lake Charles, Shirley Guillory and husband Shelton of Eunice, Carolyn Primeaux and husband Lonnie of Grand Lake, Linda Hughes and husband Wayne of Welsh, Gerry Fusilier and husband Paul of Lake Charles; one son, Terry Broussard of Basile; one sister, Evelyn LeJeune of Lake Arthur; two brothers, Leroy Broussard of Lake Arthur, Willie Broussard of Coos Bay, Oregon four half-sisters, Helda Suire of Lake Arthur, Mary Louise Hardy of Welsh, Alice LeGros and Brenda Coleman both of Jennings; two half-brothers, Joseph Broussard and Albert Broussard both of Lake Arthur; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mr. Broussard was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eula Jane Guidry Broussard and his parents, Emile and Alice Martin Broussard. Pallbearers will be Mike King, Lance Hughes, Lee Hughes, Robert Fusilier, Tyler Broussard and Brent LeJeune. Honorary pallbearers will be Toddy Moore, Ronnie Broussard, Ben Chapman, Leroy Broussard, Bernie Broussard, Marvin Gaspard and Clifford Broussard
