A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Hilda Broussard Lapoint, 92, of Lake Arthur will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation for Mrs. Lapoint will begin on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. and conclude at 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. It will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday and close at 9:30 a.m. for the procession to church.
Hilda Broussard Lapoint, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, beacon of love and earthly angel, peacefully passed away on April 1, 2024, at the age of 92. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering love and kindness that carries on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Hilda was born on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1932, to her parents, Philomen LaFosse Broussard, and Octave Broussard. She lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 6 siblings: brothers, Nolan, Lawson, Costan, and Lloyd Broussard and sisters, Liffey Broussard Mire and Ruby Broussard Hoffpauir. She was also preceded in death by her only grandson, John Bennett Lapoint and they sit together in Heaven watching over their loved ones.
Hilda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John Edward, “J.E.”, Lapoint. Married October 23, 1948, they built a life of love, laughter, family, friendship, home cooked meals and sweet dough pies. Hilda is also survived by their 3 sons, Bennett (Elizabeth) Lapoint, Steve (Angie) Lapoint and Brian (Joan) Lapoint; granddaughters: Ashley (Jim) Ego, Brittany (Sumar) Lapoint, Hilary (Dennis) Moreau and Catherine (Cole) Lapoint; great grandchildren: Ethan and Alexa Perron, Addie Lapoint, Everett Moreau and David and Andrew Ego.
