A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Henry Myers, Jr., 88, of Jennings, will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father William Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with graveside military honors under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Myers will begin on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary.  Visitation will resume Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Myers was the owner of the Jennings Hotel, Trailer Park and Snow Cone Stand.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved his racehorses and he absolutely treasured his family and friends. He was extremely proud of his hayfields and was known quite well around the area for the quality of hay he harvested. He worked hard at everything he did and his dedication to his family, his business and his hobbies was legendary.

Mr. Myers was born in Mermentau and was a lifelong resident of the Jennings/Hathaway area.  He served his country proudly in the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Post 19.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Danielle (Wayne)Fruge and Melinda (Richard)Manuel all of Jennings; grandchildren, Jeremy Fruge, Tiffany (Kyle)Richey, Amy (John)Bult, Tanner Manuel and Brent (Shana)Manuel.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Mae Gary Myers; his parents, Henry Myers, Sr. and Adele Hanks Myers; brother, Harry Myers and infant siblings Una and Hilliard Myers.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Fruge, Richard Manuel, Jeremy Fruge, Tanner Manuel,
Brent Manuel and Kyle Richey.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Bult, Hayes Richey, Beau Richey and Jase Manuel.

The family would like to thank Golden Age of Welsh for their great care and compassion.
