Helen Ann Matlick

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Ann Guidry Matlick, 68, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Matlick died at 8:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2013 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Lake Arthur area. Mrs. Matlick loved spending time with her family, especially her great-granddaughter, Emma Grace. Survivors include her five daughters, Melinda Abshire Roe and husband Glenn, Donna Ryder and husband Bubba, Sharon Sonnier and husband David, Lonette Benoit and husband Steven all of Lake Arthur, Mary Abshire Hibbitts and husband Todd of Jennings; her eleven grandchildren, Sarah, TuTu, Logan, Kyle, Brittney, Joseph, Grant, Donavon, Luke, Alex and Taylor; and her two great-grandchildren, Xander and Emma. Mrs. Matlick is preceded in death by her parents, Wilton (Cook) Paul and Eunice Bertrand Guidry; one sister, Dorothy LeMaire; one brother, Sydney Bonnie Guidry and one grandson, Jordan Cole Benoit. Pallbearers will be Glenn A. Roe I, Glenn A. Roe II, Kyle Ryder, David Sonnier, Steven R. Benoit and Todd Hibbitts. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Ryder, Joseph Sonnier, Grant Benoit, Donavon Benoit, Luke Benoit and Alex Hibbitts.
