Harrell G. Chaisson

Funeral services for Mr. Harrell “H.G.” Gene Chaisson, 77, of Gueydan, will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jered Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in Mermentau Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

The visitation for Mr. Chaisson will begin on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Chaisson was born on December 7, 1946, in Jennings, to Eldridge Samuel Chaisson and Rose Marie Miller Chaisson.  He lived most of his life in Jennings and graduated from Jennings High School in 1965.  He was an awesome welder, a jokester, and a talented artist.  He loved decorating for the holidays, the Saints and LSU football.  He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather who would have done anything for his family.  He also enjoyed Jennings Bulldog football and made it a point to always listen in to their games.  He also served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Viet Nam era.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Robin (Scott) Milner of Gueydan; three sons, Dustin Samuel Chaisson, Brandon Scott Chaisson and Benjamin Ross Chaisson, all of Jennings; a sister, Elaine Duhon of Jennings; six grandchildren, Cassie, Madison, Molly, Avery, Max and Gavin.

Pallbearers will be Scott Chaisson, Ben Chaisson, Scott Milner, Troy Duhon, Max Chaisson and Ashley Cloud.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin and Gavin Chaisson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don Chaisson.
