JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Hanno Griffith, 73, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2010 in the First Baptist Church with Brian Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Istre Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday; and 8:00 a.m., Friday until time of services. Mr. Griffith died at 9:35 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2010 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Griffith was born and raised on the Island of Guanaja in the Bay of Islands of Honduras. He moved to the United States and worked for the Great Lakes International Dredging Company and later as a roustabout in the oilfield for Gary Construction. Mr. Giffith was a resident of Jennings 29 years moving here from Tampa, FL. His greatest joys in life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. One of the proudest moments in his life was when he became a citizen of the United States. Survivors include four daughters, Jane Griffith, Patricia Langley and husband Percy, Mazie Breaux and husband Kyle, Kathleen Neely and husband Aaron all of Jennings; one son, Dr. Patrick Griffith and wife Misty of Jennings; two sisters, Brenda Hammond and husband Woody of Tampa, FL, Emily Pittman of Orlando, FL; one brother, Lonnie Griffith and wife Carol of Bonita Springs, FL; and eight grandchildren, Quinton Griffith, Matthew Tucker, Isabella Griffith, Nocona Neely, Kendyl Breaux, Sophia Griffith, Avery Breaux and Hanno Joseph Griffith. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ella Hyde Griffith; his wife, Celimene Monger; four sisters, Hessy Jackson, Julia Conner, Kathleen Jackson, Melba Reba, Urcel Northcraft; and one brother, Fred Griffith. Pallbearers will be Maurice Camel, Percy Langley, Jeff Cormier, John Daigle, Ivan Guillory, and Terri Guillory. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Griffith, Quinton Griffith, Matthew Tucker, Nocona Neely, Kendyl Breaux, Hanno Joseph Griffith, Kyle Breaux, Aaron Neely, and Dallas Camel.
