Hana Bridgette Saicharoen

November 18, 2005 — July 24, 2023

In the early morning hours of July 24, 2023, our beautiful, precious, and talented daughter, Hana Bridgette Saicharoen, rode off for the last time heading for the gates of Heaven.  While our hearts are forever broken, the memories of her sweet soul will live on.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Hana will be held on Saturday, July 29, 23 at 10:00 a.m in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with her great uncle, Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.  Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Mausoleum in Welsh, LA under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Hana will begin on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m.  It will resume Saturday morning and 8:00 a.m. and end at 9:30 a.m. to leave for church.

Hana was born in Lake Charles on November 18, 2005.  She was a lifelong resident of Welsh.  Her life, though not nearly as long as we would have liked, was filled with the love she had for training her horses, rodeos, animals , her friends and especially her family.  She was what some might call an animal whisperer because she enjoyed a special bond with them.  She was a member of the Jeff Davis Riders Club, and in 2021 and 2022, was awarded the All-Around Jr. Champion of the Year.  The younger riders who were just starting out looked to Hana as a mentor, and she was always available to lend a helping hand.  In whatever capacity Hana was operating in (sister, friend, mentor, daughter) she gave it everything she had and then some.  Hana never let anything get in the way of doing what she loved, and her tenacity in meeting her difficulties head on was a stark reminder of the determination she had and her faith in her Saviour.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Kathleen (Katie) McMillin and stepfather, Dustin Locke; father, Jeffrey Saicharoen and his wife Karen, of Sulphur; her one true love, Kaleb Seay of Carlyss; two sisters, Cara Saicharoen and Aliana Locke, both of Welsh; and her brother, Aaron Locke of Welsh; her Mala, Dianne Hebert of Welsh; maternal grandfather Michael (Yvette) McMillin of Folsom, LA; Godparents, Paul (Charlene) McMillin of Texarkana, TX and Kathy Tracy of Eunice; her greatest mentor “CC” Cathy (Leland) Meche of Welsh; aunt Brandy (Zeke) Hampton of Vidor, TX; paternal Grandmother Maleena Saicharoen, Aunt Lannathai and Uncle Pathana “Stoney” Saicharoen, all of Thailand;

Uncles Joey (Dana)Saicharoen of Ragley , Bobby (Rebe) Saicharoen of Lake Charles, and Christopher Sukhanenya of Iowa.

Waiting to greet her in heaven were her cousin, Ryan Hampton; her paternal grandparents Wathana Saicharoen, Carolyn Sue Saichareon and Pitak Sukhanenya.
