Gertie Marie Doucet

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Gertie Marie Trahan Doucet, 52, will be held at 2:00 p.m. , Monday, March 1, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Barnett. Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 and continue until the time of service on Monday. Mrs. Doucet died at 2:00 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2010 in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Doucet was a resident of Johnson Bayou before moving to Lake Arthur. She was faithful in reading her Bible daily and enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed scrapbooking. She is survived by two daughters; Jeanette Leger and husband Kent of Lake Arthur and Nicole Jones and husband Brian of Lake Arthur; a son, Jerry Doucet and wife Theresa of Lake Arthur, two sisters, Lily Trahan of Johnson Bayou, and Katherine Hebert and husband Presley of Winnie, Tx. and five brothers; Leroy Trahan and wife Mary of Johnson Bayou, V. L. Trahan of DeQuincy, Ervin Trahan and wife Sandra of Johnson Bayou, Eldaw Trahan and wife Denise of Johnson Bayou and Tommy Trahan and wife Mary of Sulphur and six grandchildren; Austin Lee and Garrett Allen Doucet, Kaden Wayne Jones, Christopher Kyle Leger, Brian Keith Jones, Jr. and Jamarcus Blain Jones.. Mrs. Doucet was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Doucet, her parents, Warren O. and Jeanette Marie Badon Trahan, and two brothers, Ernest Trahan and Sonny Boy Trahan. Pallbearers will be Austin Doucet, Rick Koppie, Eldaw Trahan, V. L. Trahan, Michael White, Presley Hebert, John Trahan and Tommy Trahan. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
