Geraldine O'Quain Lejeune

Geraldine “Pookie” O’Quain LeJeune, 81, of Sulphur passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 in a Lafayette Hospital.

Pookie loved playing Bingo and playing cards with her family; she would keep them laughing with her jokes and stories. She collected roosters and her favorite foods were boiled crabs or fried catfish. Pookie enjoyed mail-in (back in the day) and online shopping. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her faithful companion “Sapphire”.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children; Sherain McClelland; Letty Breaux, Cheryl Landry, Carol Guillory, Ferral LeBleu; grandchildren, Hope, Danny, Jessica, Monica, Brent, Hattie, Sadie, Chad, Sara, Hannah, and Kayla; great grandchildren, Zackary, Skyla, Ella, Elek, Hunter, Natalia, and Braxton; and two brothers, Terry Lee O’Quain and Steve O’Quain.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Schley; granddaughter, Dana Myers; and siblings, Nang, Marsha, Penny, Linda Faye, Lela Mae, Lorraine and Dorothy.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in First Baptist Church of Carlyss. Burial will follow in Farquhar Cemetery under the direction of Miquez Cemetery.  Pastor Marcus Wade will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday 11am – 1pm at the church.
