The family of George E. Dill, 87 of Crowley, LA, announce his passing on February 10, 2024, in his home surrounded by his daughter and longtime caregivers.

Services were held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 12:45 p.m. at Miguez Funeral Home with Deacon Wayne Chapman officiating.  The burial was in the Southwest Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery with full Military Honors.

Mr. Dill was born on May 18, 1936, in Tekamah, Nebraska to Troy Dill and Catherine Mitchell.  Growing up and graduated High School in Edgemont, SD. He served his country honorably in the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 101^st Airborne Division. He worked as a Petroleum Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry for Shell Oil for more than 45 years.

Left to cherish his memories are daughters, Sonia Lemp of Montana, Bethany Christensen of Colorado, and Patricia Downey of New Jersey; son, Douglas Dill of Michigan; sister, Mary Catherine Jones; brothers, Richard “Dick”, David and James Dill; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

He now rejoices in heaven with his parents; his wife, Irene Coleman Dill; sisters, Patrica Ray Morgan, Patricia Ann Dill and Shirley Ott.
