Funeral services for Mrs. Genevieve Marceaux Trahan, 92, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.

Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Trahan died at 4:41 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 in the Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Mrs. Trahan was a native of Gueydan and a resident of Lafayette for more than 50 years. She loved taking care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved going camping,playing Wahoo and holding babies.

Survivors include one daughter, Yvonne Green and husband Bobby of Lafayette; one son, Dickie Trahan and wife Emma of Lake Arthur; one brother, Bill Marceaux and wife Maizie of Lake Arthur; six grandchildren, Kevin Trahan and wife LeDawn, Shannon Trahan Olivier and husband Joe, Jessica Trahan, Justin Trahan, Joel Green, Joleah Green Richardson and husband Ben and eight great-grandchildren, Harrison Green, Samuel Richardson, Jessi, Emily, Gabriel Olivier, Dylan Greek, Tristan and Danielle Trahan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Odelon and Selema Mallett Marceaux; husband, Cheris Trahan and three brothers, Thomas Marceaux, Bascom Marceaux and Carl Cormier.
