Funeral services for Mr. Gary Lewis Davis, 59, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. A rosary led by the Ladies Altar Society will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Davis died at 7:05 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2009 in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. Mr. Davis was a lifelong resident of Jennings. He graduated from Jennings High School and attended McNeese State University of Lake Charles and University of Louisiana, Lafayette. He owned and operated Delgar Electronics, LLC and Crawfish Net, Inc. He was a former Boy Scout Master, an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was awarded the Beaver Award. He worked with and sponsored the Freddie Pate Jamboree. Mr. Davis was well known as an avid animal lover and supported ARF. He rescued, fostered and found homes for many abandoned animals. Survivors include his wife, Delores Richert Davis; two step-sons, Jonathan Mark Person and wife Mary of Jennings, and Joel Jerome Person also of Jennings; one sister, Connie Hebert and husband Keith of Jennings; one brother, Darrell Davis and wife Tina of Jennings; one granddaughter, Ashley Nicohole Person of Sulphur; two grandsons, Christopher and Victor Guidry of Iowa. Preceded in death by his parents, Herbert (H.L.) and Glenna Dee Golden Davis. Pallbearers will be Darrell Davis, Keith Hebert, Mark Person, Joel Person, Reginald Manuel and Dustin Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Dees and Freddie Pate.
