Funeral services for Mr. Galen James Sonnier, 44, of Eunice will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Joey Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m.

Galen was born on March 5, 1977, in Lake Charles to Dalton and Rita Deshotel Sonnier. He worked as a welder in the Oil Industry. He loved to hunt, fish, and play pool.  His daughter was his everything.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his parents; his daughter, Destiny Grace Sonnier of Eunice; three sisters, Donna Crawford, Christina Carlin, Delores Ardoin; and one brother, Dalton Ray Sonnier, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilmer and Mazie Morvant Deshotel; and his paternal grandparents, Ferdinand and Atta Marie Fontenot Sonnier; his girlfriend, Stacey Fruge; and his niece Kaitlyn Sloane.
