Gabe Mallett

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Gabe Mallett, 69, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Anthony Fontenot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. today, Wednesday; and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., today, Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Mallett died at 11:20 a.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in the Dubuis Hospital of Lake Charles. Mr. Mallett was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a graduate of the Roanoke High School. Mr. Mallett attended SLI, now ULL and was a farmer and worked for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. He served in the U.S. Marine Reserve and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic and the Immaculate Conception Adoration Chapel. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Janice Mallett of Jennings; one daughter, Dionne (Rick) Robicheaux of Jennings; three sons, Brian (Paula) Mallett of Evangeline, John (Debbie) Mallett and Carl (Deana) Mallett both of Lake Charles; twelve grandchildren, Anne, Mallory, Joseph and Richard Robicheaux, Megan and Alex Mallett, Austin and Johnathan Mallett, Jade Nugent, Devin Quebodeaux, Chandler and Gabriel Mallett; three great-grandchildren, Gatlin, Remington and Colt Nugent. Mr. Mallett is preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel and Oline Guillory Mallett, one sister, Shirley Valdez and granddaughter, Avery Kate Mallett. Pallbearers will be Milt Janice, Ray Janice, Devin Quebodeaux, Austin Mallett, Kendall Theunissen, and Dr. Mitchell Sonnier.
