Franklin Daniel Bellard

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Franklin Daniel Bellard, 77, will be held at 2:00 p.m., today, Thursday, February 10, 2011 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation was from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m., today Thursday until time of services. A rosary led by the Catholic Daughters was recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Bellard died at 4:18 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at his residence in Lake Arthur. Mr. Bellard was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and was a retired foreman for US Ag and Steel. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Mr. Bellard enjoyed cooking and spending time with his grandchildren. He died surrounded by his family. Mr. Bellard is survived by his wife, Marjorie Breaux Bellard of Lake Arthur; one daughter, Sue B. Chapman and husband Kenneth of Lake Arthur; four sons, Daniel Bellard and wife Arline, David Bellard and wife Polly, Lawrence Bellard and wife Sandra and Matt Bellard and wife Lenora all of Lake Arthur, one brother, John Lee Bellard of Kaplan; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Zula Blanchard Bellard and one sister, Lucy Cormier. The family wishes to thank Heart of Hospice for their compassionate and spiritual care, especially from his nurses, Lynn McCown and Sheryl Trahan and aide Loretta.
