Frank J. Verret Sr., 83, of Lafayette, Louisiana passed away peacefully surrounded by his children, in Jennings, Louisiana on March 9, 2024.

Frank was born in Charenton, Louisiana, in 1940, to Gabriel Verret and Edith Dugas Verret. Frank attended Tuerlings High School before joining the Army in July 1959. After serving in the Army, Frank worked in the oil field and as a long-haul truck driver for several years before retiring. Anyone who knew Frank, knew the love he had for his wife and children. He loved life and was always a great friend and loved to joke around. Frank was the Cajun of Cajuns who loved his heritage and great Cajun food. He will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his oldest son Frank J. Verret Jr. and wife Karen (grandchildren Cassandra, Camielle, Frank III and Bryce and great grandchildren Kyra and Frank IV); son, Brandon C. Verret and wife Stephanie (grandsons Gabriel and Liam); son, Francis J. Verret and wife Meg (granddaughter, Eva); and daughter, Britti C. Verret and wife Jen (grandchildren, Bret and Leah).

Frank is preceded in death by his beloved wife, B. Cecile “Ceci” Verret, and both his parents, Gabriel and Edith “Mama Dit” Verret, and his stepmother Adele M. Verret.

The family has chosen the wishes of cremation, and will be under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
