Francis Lee Meaux

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Francis Lee Meaux, 59, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2015 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Francis was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and served in the U.S. Air Force for six years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Lake Arthur. Francis was employed by Island Operators, Lafayette, LA as a Field Foreman. He left a lasting impact on many coworkers and made many lasting friends. He enjoyed meeting people and never knew a stranger, a quality he got from his mother Mary Meaux. He loved making people laugh and his humor always shined through even in his darkest hour. He loved his family dearly and loved spending time with them in many different ways. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting and walking. He especially loved following the Lake Arthur Lady Tigers basketball team for the past 34 years. He is survived by one son, Matthew Logan Meaux of Lake Charles, LA; his former wife of 33 years and best friend, Becky Bergeaux Meaux of Lake Charles, LA; his siblings, Sandra Faye McGee and her husband James of Lake Charles, Raymond Meaux and his wife Catherine Hay of Lake Arthur, Leonard Meaux and his wife Judy Trahan of Lake Arthur; his special companion Calyx Harris of Chapel Hill, NC; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Minas and Mary Benoit Meaux. The family would like to thank Oschners Medical Center of New Orleans for their thorough and compassionate care.
