Floyd Joseph Bertrand

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Joseph Bertrand, 74, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 31, 2015 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel in Lake Arthur with Dr. John Cernek officiating. Burial with full military graveside honors will be in the Lakeview Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Monday until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Mr. Bertrand died at 12:13 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Bertrand was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era. He was a retired Captain for the U.S. Merchants Marines. He was a former Deputy Sheriff for Cameron Parish. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the Lake Arthur Hunting Club. He also loved alligator hunting. Survivors include his wife, Consuelo Jean Cuevas Bertrand of Lake Arthur; three daughters, Lynn Bertrand of Lake Arthur, Caryn Bertrand Murrell of Kinder, Mitzi Bertrand Blake of South Burlington, VT; one sister, Lucille Landry of Lake Arthur; one brother Alton Bertrand of Lake Arthur; grandchildren Sharon and Hannah Murrell of Lake Charles, Zoe Blake of Vermont and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bertrand is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Naomi Vincent Bertrand, four sisters and three brothers.
