Famon Bonin

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Famon Bonin, (96) will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under Miguez Funeral Home. Funeral home visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. today, Monday; and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. A rosary led by the Catholic Daughters will be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Bonin died at 5:55 p.m., Saturday, January 1, 2011 in the Jennings Guest House. Mr. Bonin was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and retired owner of Bonins Grocery Store. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, R.J. Bonin and wife Liz of Lake Arthur, and Robert Dale Bonin and wife Renella of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Rose Roy of Lake Arthur; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Bonin was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Anna LeBlanc Bonin; his wife of 72 years, Clara Myers Bonin and one son, Herbert Tubby Bonin.
