Evelyn "Pal" Johnson

July 24, 1930 — February 1, 2019

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn “Pal” Johnson, 88, of Jennings will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at First Pentecostal Church of Jennings at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. James Townley officiating. Burial will follow in Bluff Cemetery in Evangeline under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Johnson will begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday until 9:00 p.m. at Miguez Funeral Home. It will resume at the church on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. and continue until time of service.

Mrs. Johnson was a blessing to everyone she came in contact with and was always praying for those in need. She was so loved that she became everyone’s “MawMaw’. She didn’t just go to church, she lived her church. She was quick witted and a joy to all who met her. Mrs. Johnson made wedding cakes for over 50 years.

She is survived by one son, Glenn (Julie) Johnson of Evangeline; two sisters, Lucille “DeeDee” Stoute of Evangeline and Judy Fuselier of Lake Charles; three brothers, Lynn Simar and Jay Simar of Evangeline and Milton Simar of Iota; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren and her very special friend, Billie Gybson of Silsbee, TX.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband Hilton Johnson; her parents, Louis Simar and Ada Cooley Goad; two daughters, Brenda Schexneider and Katherine Johnson and two sons, Jeffry Johnson and Christopher Johnson.
