Eva Lois Bertrand

Jennings Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Lois Bertrand, 77 will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 12 noon with Rev. David Broussard officiating. Burial will be in the St. Jules Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Mrs. Bertrand died Wednesday September 25, 2013 at 12:30 pm in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Funeral home visitation on Saturday, September 29, 2013 will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 6 p.m. Visitation on Sunday will be from 8 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Bertrand was a native of Beaumont, TX and resided in Evangeline since 1971. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline, enjoyed reading, working puzzle books, dance to French music, camping and fishing. She is survived by a daughter; Katherine (Thomas) Simar of Egan, LA, a son: Adam A. D. (Joan) Bertrand of Abbeville, LA, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bertrand was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Joseph Bertrand, a son, Roger Lynn Bertrand, two sisters, Geneva Staggs and Ruth Bertrand and two brothers, J. D. Savoy and Edgar Savoy.
