Eula Mae Bertrand

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred L. (Eula Mae Janise) Bertrand, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2011 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Funeral home visitation was held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., today Thursday; and from 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services. A rosary was recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery in Welsh under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Mrs. Bertrand died at 12:10 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Bertrand was a native of Church Point and a resident of Lake Arthur 64 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Thornwell. Survivors include her husband, Alfred Bertrand of Thornwell; two daughters, Patricia A. Bertrand of Jennings, Tasha B. Wilkinson and husband Shane of Cedar Park, Texas; one son, Ira Lee Bertrand and wife Darla of Jennings; one brother, Andrew Janise, Jr. of Crowley; grandchildren, Chantay Broussard and husband Skip, Tricia Lindsey and husband Bill, Shannon Bertrand and wife Angie, Mandy Janise and husband Brandon, Cole Wilkinson, Cypris Wilkinson; great-grandchildren, Brittnee Broussard, Kennedy Broussard, Maddie Broussard, Kristina Lindsey, Zachary Bertrand, Jude Bertrand, Keaton Bertrand, Luke Bertrand, Carter Janise; and one great great-grandchild, Grace Ann Bertrand and her mother Holly Lopez. Pallbearers were Shannon, Zachary, Jude and Keaton Bertrand, and Shane and Cole Wilkinson. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Hargrave and Luke Bertrand. Mrs. Bertrand was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Hattie Manuel Janise, Sr., and sisters, Lena Hargrave, and Lorena Simar.
