Ethel Rabey

Mrs. Ethel (Fontenot)Rabey passed away peacefully, to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in Welsh at the age of 84.

Ethel enjoyed spending time with family and was regarded as an accomplished Cajun cook. She also enjoyed crabbing and fishing and the end result of her endeavors were serving and eating seafood with her family. She also enjoyed camping in Holly Beach. She attended Courts of Praise Church and Evangelistic Outreach Church and had a strong Christian faith.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rabey will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 in Jennings at the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Ron Fontenot and Bro. Robert Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Ardoin Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Rabey will begin on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. and continue until 8:00 p.m. It will resume again Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mrs. Rabey is survived by her son, Roger (Ange)Mier and two daughters, Rae Lynn (Byron)Broussard and Cherie’ Rabey all of Welsh; three brothers, Andrew Fontenot, Anderson Fontenot, Jr., both of Welsh and Ronald Fontenot of Taylor, TX; four sisters, Thelma Cormier of Welsh, Yvonne Murray of Jennings, Debbie Fontenot of Crowley and Jessie Romero of Welsh; grandchildren, Daisy Fredericks, Dusty Waltner, Dustin Broussard, Brandon Vai, Kendall Broussard, Stephen Mier; eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Joe Rabey; her parents, Anderson Fontenot, Sr. and Allia (Demarest)Fontenot; brothers, Lawrence “Bee” Fontenot and Jerry Fontenot and a sister, Louise Trahan.
