Ernest Lee Conner

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Ernest Lee Conner, 79, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2011 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial with full military graveside honors will be in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., today Thursday; and 8:00 a.m., Friday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., today, Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Conner died at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Conner was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur, retired carpenter and loved to trap alligators and nutria and loved fishing. He served in the U.S. Navy as a telegraph operator during the Korean Conflict, was a member of V.F.W. Post 3244 and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carrie Gene Istre Conner of Lake Arthur; one daughter, Lynn L. Conner of Jennings; one son, Eric Jude Conner of Lake Arthur; three sisters, Genevieve Hoffpauir and husband Cleveland of Lake Arthur, Catherine Broussard of Welsh and Florence Conner of Lake Arthur; one brother, Claude Conner and wife Margie of Lake Charles; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Eric Conner, Joshua Gotte, Randy Gotte, Glenn Hoffpauir, Cameron Hanks, Joby Conner. Honorary pallbearer will be Gage Conner.
