LAKE ARTHUR
Funeral services for Mr. Elwin DeRouen, 94, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.
Burial with Military Graveside Rites will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.
Mr. DeRouen died at 9:10 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday; and Saturday until time of services.
A rosary led by Yvonne Nunez will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. DeRouen was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and was a graduate of the Lake High School class of 1941. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a retired supervisor for an offshore catering company. He was a member of the Jean Lafitte Camping Club, Veterans’ of Foreign Wars and the American Legion Post 403. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline DeRouen of Lake Arthur; two sons, Wilton DeRouen and wife Linda and Ronald DeRouen and wife Mona all of Lake Arthur; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mr. DeRouen is preceded in death by his parents, Emar and Bertha Mallet DeRouen; and his wife, Anna Juanita Trahan DeRouen and brother Cleveland DeRouen.
