JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. John (Elsie Clark) Sandiferd, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Jena, LA. At 3:00 p.m. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., today, Monday; and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services. Mrs. Sandiferd died at 6:45 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mrs. Sandiferd was a native of Jena and a resident of Elton for 56 years, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Elton and was a retired nurse with 31 years of service at the Jeff Davis Living Center. Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Mr. John Martin Sandiferd of Elton; two sons, John Keith Sandiferd and wife Vickie of Jennings, Randy Martin Sandiferd of Ragley; two sisters, Laura Mae Bird and husband James of Jonesville, Murlene Richardson and husband Gene of Williamsburg, VA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the LA Baptist Childrens Home in Monroe, LA.
