Elmer Doucet

Mr. Elmer Doucet passed away on March 3, 2020 in Lake Charles, LA at the age of 86.  Elmer is survived by his daughter Roberta Doucet Stephens, his brother Joe Doucet and sister Pat Compton, his grandchildren Megan Stephens, Cade Stephens and Callie Stephens Weigmann, and his great grandchildren Sadie Grace Gilbert, Addison Louise Weigmann, baby boy Stephens who is expected in July and baby Maynard is expected in October.

Elmer was born on October 19, 1933 in Hathaway, LA to Clifton and Lillian Doucet.  Elmer served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from July 1952 through July 1956 in the 14th Communications Squadron and the 93rd Bomb Wing as a Teletype Specialist where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.  Elmer spent the better part of his professional career as a Laon Auditor for the Federal Government before he retired.  He then worked for 10 years in security at the Coushatta Casino in Kinder, LA.

Elmer married Roberta Jean Jester on June 29, 1958 in Hathaway, LA where they spent the better part of 60 years together as husband and wife.

A visitation/viewing will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings, LA followed by Elmer’s Celebration of Life a 2:00 p.m.  Billy Compton will officiate the ceremony.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Elmer’s life and legacy.
