LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Norman Martin, 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2012 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Whitney Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Shell Beach Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday; and 8:00 a.m. Monday until time of services. A Scripture service led by Rev. Miller will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Martin died at 6:10 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a native of Hillsboro, Texas and a resident of Lake Arthur for 60 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and an active member of the Catholic Daughters for over 50 years. Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Sanders and husband Allen of Baldwin, Bridget Martin of Lake Charles, Celestine Angelle and husband Frank of Jennings; one son, Michael Martin and wife Debbie of Hong Kong; one sister, Hazel Hanning of Fort Worth, TX; 8 grandchildren, Benjamin Martin, Jeremy Martin, Christopher Sanders, Joshua Sanders, Samuel Sanders, Jonathan Sanders, Jill Angelle, Jodi Angelle and 3 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her parents, Vaughn and Mary Hughes Norman, her husband, LeRoy Martin and two brothers, James C. and Wilburn Norman.
