Eleanore Lorraine Legros

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanore Lorraine LeGros, 69, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2015 in the St. John the Evangelist Church in Mermentau with Rev. Randall Moreau officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. LeGros died at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. LeGros was a lifelong resident of Mermentau/Andrus Cove area. She was the first woman coach for the Lake Arthur boys pee wee baseball team. She loved to play bingo and cards and to dance. Mrs. LeGros cherished every moment with her family. She loved taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her companion, Michael “Tenny” Benoit; her ex-husband, Danny LeGros; three daughters, Rhonda Lewis and husband Boogie of Lake Arthur, Rhonetta Gotte and husband Joe Boy of Iota, Rachel Dykes and husband Jody of Sulphur; one son, Darren LeGros and wife Misty of Evangeline; five sisters, Claira Yvonne Martin and husband MJ of Andrus Cove, Bonnie LeGros and husband Jimmy Jr. of Mermentau, Sherry Whitehouse and husband Rodger of Andrus Cove, Wanda Linhart of Crowley, Linda Deshotel of Pearl River; five brothers, David Hulin of Virginia, Don Deshotel, Collins Deshotel, Kenny Deshotel, Jeff Deshotel all of Pearl River; 32 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and her mother-in-law Lorice LeGros and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. LeGros is preceded in death by her parents, Reggie T. Deshotel and Gertrude LeBlanc Hulin; maternal grandparents Gilbert and Eleanore LeBlanc; her stepdad Roy Hulin; two brothers, Mark and Kevin Deshotel; her father-in-law O’neil LeGros and two uncles Gilbert L. and Ed Morris LeBlanc and her brother- in- law Jim Linhart.
