Eldie Sonnier

Lake Arthur A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Eldie Vincent Sonnier, 84 at 1:30 p.m., Saturday July 13, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemtery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Mrs. Sonnier died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Funeral home visitation on Friday, July 12, 2013 will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Sonnier was a native of Cameron Parish and lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. She was a homemaker, a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society. She is survived by two daughters and sons “in-law: Sandra and Billy Guidry of Slaughter, LA and Cheryl and Carlos Silva of Humble, TX, a son; John Sonnier of Houston, TX, two sisters: Rose Crochet of Gueydan, LA and Rita Mason of Austin, TX, three brothers: Wilsey Vincent of Duson, LA, Steven Vincent of Lafayette, LA and James B. Vincent of Crosby, TX, eight grandchildren: Jeffery and Shawn Lee, Troy Jeremy and Jarred Guidry, Marissa Manfred, Jessica and Melanie Silva, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Mrs. Sonnier was preceded in death by her parents, Sosthene and Alidecia Benoit Vincent, her husband of over 50 years, Howard Sonnier, a sister; Hazel LeMaire and her twin brother; Joseph E. Joe Vincent.
