LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Edward Lipinski, 88, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial with full Military Graveside Honors will be in Shell Beach Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation hours will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009 with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. Mr. Lipinski was the son of Polish immigrants, born in New Jersey but called Louisiana his home, most recently living in San Antonio for 24 years. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and graduated with honors with his Mechanical Engineering degree from LSU. Later in his career he worked in the military bases in San Antonio, retiring at age 81. He loved to hunt and fish, spending as much time as he could outdoors. Preceding him in death was his wife of 65 years: Mary Beatrice Benoit Lipinski. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Jane Lipinski of Katy, TX, and Michele Anne Alexander of Tomball, TX and her husband Paul; two sons, Michael Joseph Lipinski of Baytown, TX and John Austin Lipinski of Houston and his wife Shere; three grandchildren, Austin Edward Lipinski, Katie Marie Lipinski and Lindsey Carter Alexander.
