Funeral services for Mr. Laurent “Drue” Martin, 58 of Evangeline will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Trey Ange officiating.  Burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Drue will begin on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.    and continue until 9:00 p.m.  A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.  It will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday and continue until 9:30 a.m. when we prepare to leave for church.

Drue was born in Jennings on November 6, 1962, to parents Lee Drue and Shirley Dupuis Martin.  He was a 1981 graduate of Jennings High School.  After graduation he worked as an operator in the oil and gas industry.  He enjoyed all the outdoor activities that his community offered such as hunting, fishing and football.  Drue also enjoyed dancing, making people laugh and being the life of every party.  He especially enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters, Renee (Michael) Hardy and Kimberly (Seth) Pelissier all of Evangeline; his companion, Sherry Broussard of Gueydan; four sisters, Annette (Billy) Reed, Mona (Kevin) Mitchell, Tricia Martin all of Evangeline and Deborah (Scooter) Britt of Jennings.  He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Marshall Hardy, Evelyn Hardy and Lee and Luke Pelissier.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his beloved wife, Jocelyn “Joy” Theriot Martin.
