Funeral services for Mr. Donald Beard, 65, of Lake Arthur, LA will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Groth officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.

Funeral home visitation will be 11:30am until 9:00pm Monday and 8:00am Tuesday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00pm Monday, April 21, 2014 in the funeral home chapel.

Donald spent most of his life living in Lake Arthur. He was a Lake Arthur High School graduate of the Class of 1966. Upon graduation he entered the United States Navy. He spent 33 years as a pipeline foreman for American Natural Resources (ANR) in Grand Chenier, LA now owned by TransCanada.

He loved to deer hunt, fish, and barbecue. He never met a stranger and enjoyed telling of his hunting and fishing trips. He always made sure there was enough barbecue to feed everyone. He truly enjoyed nature and being outdoors.

Left to cherish Donalds memories are his wife, Debra Boudreaux Beard of Lake Arthur; daughter, Wendy Beard Primeaux and husband, Derrick Primeaux of Lake Charles, LA; son, Jared Ray Beard of Lake Arthur; grandchildren, Jacob Edwards, Nicholas, and Emma Primeaux of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Lloyd Beard, Jr. of Vidor, TX; sister, Ellen Andrus of Lake Arthur; brother, Bradley Beard of Hackberry, LA. Donald was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Malita Beard of Lake Arthur, and sister Chris Beard Guidry of Jennings, LA.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Edwards, Randy Guidry, Scotty Fontenot, Randy Boudreaux, Trevor Pellerin and August Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas and Emma Primeaux.
