Donald "Pops" Emerson Chapman

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mr. Donald Emerson Pops Chapman, 85, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2011 in the Lake Arthur United Methodist Church with Rev. Lamarylis Cotton officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday and 8:00 a.m. Sunday until 12 noon when the body will be taken to the church for the 2:00 service. Mr. Chapman died at 10:02 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Chapman was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and a graduate of the Lake Arthur High School. He was a carpenter, made hunting knives, enjoyed raising rabbits and attending rabbit shows. He was a member of the Lake Arthur United Methodist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Nunez of Iowa, LA one son, Joe Chapman and wife Sheila of Jennings; five grandchildren, Kathy Nunez, Stephanie Nunez, Ronnie Nunez, Joe Chapman, Jr. and Jeremy Chapman and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, William George and Eva Dudley Chapman; his wife, Beulah Tiny Martin Chapman; four brothers, William Frederick Chapman, Leo Ernest Chapman, Elsworth George Chapman, Harold Richard Chapman and one grandson, Vernon Joseph Nunez.
