Funeral services for Mrs. Della (Buller) Bruchhaus, 88, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the St. Paul Catholic Church in Elton with Rev. Marshall Boulet officiating.
Funeral home visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Elton from 8 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery in Elton under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Mrs. Bruchhaus died at 12:23 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in the Camelot Brookside Nursing Home in Jennings.
Mrs. Bruchhaus was a lifelong resident of Elton and a graduate of the Elton High School. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and was a Eucaristic minister at St. Pauls where she was a faithful member. She retired from the Jeff Davis School Board as a teachers aide. Mrs. Bruchhaus was an avid gardener and loved doing arts and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd O. Bruchhaus of Elton; two daughters, Danelle Bruchhaus and partner Karen McGuillivray of New Orleans, Mary Katherine Bertrand and husband Rod of Elton; three sons, Darrell Bruchhaus and wife Debra, Daniel Bruchhaus and wife Desi and Joseph Bruchhaus and wife Mary all of Elton; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bruchhaus is preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Pauline Fuselier Bruchhaus; one son, Christopher Bruchhaus; and three sisters, Ethel Thompson, Attie Guillory, Edolia Curet.
