Funeral services for Mrs. Delia Marie Babineaux Crochet, 92, of Hathaway, will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father William Miller officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Lawrence Community Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. 

Visitation for Mrs. Crochet will begin on Wednesday afternoon, January 6 in the Chapel at Miguez Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m.  A rosary will be led at 6:00 p.m.  Visitation again on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the funeral home and continue until time to leave for church.

Mrs. Crochet passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021 at Jennings American Legion Hospital.  She was born on July 26, 1928 to parents Odeus and Azema Broussard Babineaux.  She worked in the school cafeteria.  Mrs. Crochet enjoyed gardening, taking care of her cats and cooking for her family.  She was a very devoted grandmother and great grandmother whose grandchildren meant everything to her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Linda Manuel of Jennings, Brenda (Lamuel) Trahan of Jennings, Bernice (Thomas) Clement of Hathaway, Debbie Manuel of Jennings; sons, Roderick (Sandy) Crochet of Hathaway, Shane (Katina) Crochet of Hathaway; daughter-in-law, Alice Degeyter Crochet of Hathaway; sisters, Marie Chaisson and Grace Babineaux; twenty-two grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 13 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bert Crochet, her parents, a son, Dennis “Deno” Crochet; a sister Annie Mae LeBlanc; two brothers Ivan and Harris Babineaux; three grandchildren, Evelyn Clement, Brent Clement and Norman Clement.
