Delia Fontenot

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Delia “DeeDee” Fontenot on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Mrs. Fontenot died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jennings. Mrs. Fontenot was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, a former member of the church choir, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Fontenot is survived by four granddaughters; Rachel Wheeler of Gonzales, LA, Dawn Bearb of Lafayette, LA, Renee Ratcliff of Angola, LA and Kim Breedlove of Central, LA, five sisters; Bernice Guidry of Rayne, LA, Joyce Fontenot, Jean Valenti, Nita Bell Schwartz and Anna Ruhland all of Jennings, LA, seven great-grandchildren; Heathr Smith, Kennerth Toney, Courtney Vittorio, Lauren Victorio, Trey Bearb, Alex Badon, Zach Bearb and Ashlyn Courts, two great-great-grandchildren Korey Toney and Dawson Whitstein and one due in May, Connor Smith. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Toney, Trey Bearb, Zach Bearb, Chase Breedlove, Andrew Smith and Frank McGraw. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mrs. Fontenot’s caregiver, Roxanne Bergeaux for the loving and compassionate care she gave to her. Mrs. Fontenot was preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta and Henry Fontenot, her husbands, Asa Courts and Cleben Fontenot, a son, Don Courts and seven siblings.
