Debra Sexton

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Debra Sexton, of Evangeline, LA, who peacefully departed this life on February 21, 2025, at the age of 67. Debra was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who was cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

Debra dedicated many years of her life to working at Boudin King in Jennings, LA, where her warmth and compassion for others created lasting memories for her coworkers and the many patrons she served. Her spirit was a beacon of light, and she lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with joy and gratitude. She cherished her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them as much as she could. 

She is deeply missed by her loving husband, Charles Sexton; her son Johnathon (Megan) Sexton; and her daughter, Carla (Harold) Miller. Debra leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren, Brinson Sexton, Adlin Bourque, Loryn (Adam) LeDoux, Sandy Miller, and great-granddaughter Gracie Smith. She is also survived by her beloved siblings: Joe Soileau, Farrell Soileau, Gustave Soileau, Jr., John (Charlotte) Soileau, Harry (Angie) Soileau, Mary Soileau, Dolores Soileau, Diane (Earl) Breaux, Shirley Soileau, and Linda Soileau, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. 

In honor of Debra's life and the love she shared with all of us, the family will hold funeral services on February 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Kevin Colsten officiating. 

Visitation will be held on Monday February 24, 2025, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, beginning at 2:00 PM, and will continue until 8:00 PM. A gathering of family and friends will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 AM, until the time of service. 

She will be laid to rest in Ravey-Parsley Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. As we remember Debra, let us hold onto the love, joy, and kindness she shared and keep her spirit alive in our hearts. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave Soileau and Lozina Johnson Soileau; and her siblings, Lee Soileau, Bobby Soileau, Florence Soileau, Thirteenna Soileau.

Caarrying her to her final place of rest will be: Kathy Chaisson, Robert Soileau, Brinson Sexton, Delbert Sexton, Danny Sexton, Jr. and Curtis Lassabe.
