JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. David W. Dequeant, 59, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 1, 2014 in the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev. Dore Langley officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anne Cemetery near Elton, LA. Mr. Dequeant died at 2:00 AM, Saturday, August 30, 2014 in his residence. Funeral home visitation was from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Monday visitation will be from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Coronerstone Baptist Church. Mr. Dequeant was a 40 year resident of Elton moving there from Mermentau Cove. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was a 1974 graduate of Midland High School, Class of 1974. He worked as a security guard at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Eunice, LA. Survivors include his wife, Cathy Landry Dequeant of Elton; daughter Rachael Ann Dequeant/Parsley of Elton; son and daughter-in-law, David William (Shanlyn) Dequeant, Jr; father, W. J. Dequeant of Elton; sister, Connie Doyle of Elton; brother, Leonard Dequeant of Elton and 3 grandchildren, Lana Breaux and Beau and Lily Dequeant. Mr. Dequeant is preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Deshotel Dequeant.
